How to fix "Request Failed" on the Midnight Network T-DUST Faucet with Lace Wallet

If you're getting this error on the Midnight preprod faucet: "Request failed: Failed to request tokens, please check your wallet address and try again" Here is exactly what's happening and how to fix it. The Problem Lace wallet has two completely separate address types that look nothing alike: A Cardano address starting with addr_test1... on testnet A Midnight unshielded address which looks completely different The T-DUST faucet only accepts Midnight addresses.
